Cocteau Twins "The Pink Opaque" Album Redesign
Redesign of Cocteau Twins album “The Pink Opaque”. A designer cannot design by simply immersing every waking moment being surrounded by design. Designers have to be able to break away from over-stimulation, and music is one of the most effective ways to escape. I reimagined the current designs for the dream pop band, Cocteau Twins' album "The Pink Opaque." I turned off all the lights, closed my eyes, sat back, turned off my mind, and listened to the album in its entirety. As the music played, I envisioned smoke and fire. Colors randing from acid greens to burning oranges. With that imagery vividly in my head, I got set to designing. I created these designs by overlaying images of a granite countertop, screencaptures of food coloring being dropped into a glass of water, and a rug in my bedroom. Playing with colors, opacities, and photo adjustments, I achieved the evocative images seen here.
